Lucknow: The prestigious Late Chandra Prakash Memorial UPTA Tennis Tournament concluded Day 2, unveiling an exciting crop of young tennis talent across multiple age categories. The tournament, held under the aegis of the Uttar Pradesh Tennis Association (UPTA), has become a significant platform for nurturing budding players in the state.
The competition, known for its rigorous matches, saw fierce rivalries and exemplary performances across boys and girls categories. Participants as young as 10 years old displayed remarkable skill and determination on the court, promising a bright future for Indian tennis. In the Boys U-10 category, Rudransh Pandey and Sathak dominated their respective quarterfinal matches, with Rudransh defeating Athrav Goel (6-1) and Sathak securing a flawless victory over Ritvik (6-0). Meanwhile, in the Boys U-12 division, Athrav Goel showcased resilience by defeating Rudra Chaurasiya (6-0), while Avanj and Praveer made their way to the semifinals with convincing wins.
The Girls U-12 semifinals witnessed stellar performances from Aashi and Aadya, who overcame their competitors with impressive margins. Aadya’s dual wins against Dhairya (6-2) and Mishita (6-3) earned her a well-deserved spot in the finals. Similarly, the Girls U-16 category showcased thrilling encounters, with Zufeesfa and Elina claiming decisive victories in the quarterfinals.
The tournament also saw standout performances in the Boys U-14 and Girls U-14 divisions, where athletes like Anay Srivastava, Aditri Singh, and Aashi clinched their matches with determination.
